Terms of service

The terms that apply when you browse or buy paving supplies from The Old Cobble Co, including orders, pricing, delivery, liability and UK law.

Last updated: [publish date]

These Terms of Service govern your use of theoldcobble.co.uk and any purchase you make from The Old Cobble Co, 117 West Way, Bournemouth BH9 3DU, United Kingdom. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Using our website

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to place an order. You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to access it without authorisation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

2. Products and descriptions

We describe our products, including dimensions, materials and pack sizes, as accurately as we can. Images are for illustration; colours and finishes may vary slightly due to screen settings and manufacturing batches. It is your responsibility to check that a product is suitable for your intended use, ground conditions and project.

3. Orders and contract

When you place an order, you will receive an email acknowledging it. This is not acceptance. A contract is formed when we email you to confirm that your order has been dispatched. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, a pricing error has occurred or we suspect fraud; if so, we will refund any payment in full.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are shown at checkout; UK orders over £50 receive free standard delivery. We accept major debit and credit cards and Shop Pay. Payment is taken in full when you place your order. See our Payment Policy for details.

5. Delivery

We deliver within the United Kingdom only. Orders are processed within 1–2 business days and usually arrive within 6–8 business days in total. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by courier delays outside our control. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. See our Shipping Policy for details.

6. Cancellations, returns and refunds

You may return unused items within 30 days of delivery, which is longer than the 14-day cancellation period required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items are covered by your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. See our Return & Refund Policy for full details.

7. Installation and use

Our products are supplies and tools for paving and landscaping work. Installation should follow the manufacturer's or our product guidance and good trade practice. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable ground preparation, misuse or normal wear and tear. For load-bearing or structural applications, seek advice from a qualified professional.

8. Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. Otherwise, we are responsible only for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms, and our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order. We are not liable for business losses such as lost profit, lost contracts or business interruption.

9. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos and product descriptions, belongs to The Old Cobble Co or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without our written permission.

10. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as severe weather, courier disruption, strikes or supplier shortages. We will contact you as soon as possible if this affects your order.

11. Privacy

We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
